Author and Freelance Writer Kimberly McRae - Walter McRae

Kimberly McRae is a Christian author with a heart for Africa and a desire to reach the world through written word. She is currently working on three novels, two non-fiction books, and several articles.

Her love of writing began over twenty years ago when she was a journalist for her school newspaper. In the late 1980s she won an award for her poetry which was featured in a printed compilation. In everything that Kimberly did she sought a way to incorporate her writing into the mix. While working for Microsoft in the late 1990s Kimberly wrote several technical articles that were used in the Microsoft Knowledge Base and available to millions of users around the world at the Microsoft Support Site. Writing technical articles was not her primary job role but she enjoyed the unique experience and it helped to shape her non-fiction skills.

Recently, Kimberly wrote several non-fiction articles and reviews for DirectStarTV, SiriusSpecials, and SecurityChoice. DirectStarTV is a licensed reseller for DirecTV Satellite Services. Sirius Specials brings Sirius Satellite Radio to listeners around the country. Security Choice is an authorized seller of ADT Security Services. Many of these articles were written directly for their websites under pen names.

In addition to her writing on Suite101, Kimberly is currently in the middle of a large writing project of Christian living material including a New Believer workbook. Christian articles first published to Suite101 can also be found at Armor of God Ministries.

In January of 1998, Kimberly began wondering whether or not what she believed in was the truth.

She started praying the only prayer she knew how to pray, "If there is a God out there, please show me."

She thought that maybe the answer was in the Bible but not having a Christian upbringing she got confused by the various Bible versions.

In June of 1998, she saw her co-worker, now her husband, reading his Bible at work and asked him what kind of Bible she should buy.

He directed her to the King James Bible and recommended some reading to her. Unable to find her answer she kept returning to him asking him for another book to read in the Bible. After 3 months of reading and 8 months of God dealing with Kimberly she found her answer while reading Romans.

She knew that beyond a shadow of a doubt that Christ died on the cross for her sins and that she needed Him in order to get to Heaven. On August 31, 1998, she repented and asked the Lord to forgive her and become her personal Lord and Savior. She is truly thankful for her husband's courage to read his Bible and witness to her at work.
